Trainer/Trainer Candidate Guidelines Project

Review of Trainer Application criteria and processes

Project Lead

The international Training and Accreditation Boards (TABS) are leading a project surveying views from the community.

Aim of Project

To seek views from the community on the current Trainer/Trainer Candidate criteria and processes.

Process of Project

TABs are keen to hear from anyone who:
1. Thinks there is a need, or not, to revisit the current processes for becoming a trainer

2. If there is a need, what would be the desired outcomes of any change?
For example,

  • make it more stringent to improve quality;
  • make it easier to increase numbers;
  • rewrite to simply and make it clearer, etc.

Refer to the AusTAB website for current details for applying to be a trainer if you are interested: Trainer Applications
Please email Susan Hillier (Chair, AusTAB) of any comments or views on the above, at info@feldenkrais-austab.org by March 30th 2025.

Current status of Project

International Accreditation Guidelines Project

The Future of Feldenkrais Method training programs

Project Lead

The International Feldenkrais Foundation (IFF) established an International Working Group (IWG), comprising representatives from all international TABs. Catherine Hamber, recent Board member, was AusTAB’s representative.

Aim of Project

To create more contemporary and ‘best practice’ polices and guidelines for Feldenkrais Professional Training Programs (FPTP), aligning with contemporary educational practice.

Process of Project

The Project Group surveyed the wider Feldenkrais Method community for their views on training programs. Survey responses were shared between TABs. NATAB mapped existing FPTP models to current international guidelines and identified potential areas of change.

Current status of Project

Amendments to the Guidelines have been implemented.  Download the new Guidelines from our webpage Training Program Proposals
